Floor Action: The House and Senate are in session. 

Women’s History- On Monday, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 3354, a bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 220 North Hatcher Avenue in Purcellville, Virginia, as the “Secretary of State Madeleine Albright Post Office Building.”

H.R. 8183–Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA)/Judiciary (4/30/24)–A bill to direct the Attorney General to convene a national working group to study proactive strategies and needed resources for the identification and rescue of children from sexual exploitation and abuse.

S. 4246–Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA)/Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (5/2/24)–A bill to improve menopause care and mid-life women’s health.

Human Trafficking 

S. 4214–Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)/Judiciary (4/30/24)–A bill to provide for the vacating of certain convictions and expungement of certain arrests of victims of human trafficking. 

H.R. 8185–Rep. Bryan Steil (R-WI)/Foreign Affairs (4/30/24)–A bill to include financial criminal activities associated with the facilitation of severe forms of trafficking in persons within the factors considered as indicia of serious and sustained efforts to eliminate severe forms of trafficking in persons.

H.R. 8188–Rep. Norma Torres (D-CA)/Judiciary (4/30/24)–A bill to create a civil action for non-consensual sexual protection barrier removal. 

H.R. 8189–Rep. Norma Torres (D-CA)/Judiciary (4/30/24)–A bill to encourage states to voluntarily pass laws to authorize civil damages and equitable relief for nonconsensual sexual protection barrier removal.

S. 4228–Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA)/Energy and Natural Resources (5/1/24)–A bill to redesignate the Cottonwood Visitor Center at Joshua Tree National Park as the “Senator Dianne Feinstein Visitor Center.” 

S. 4243–Sen. Laphonza Butler (D-CA)/Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs (5/2/24)–A bill to award posthumously the Congressional Gold Medal to Shirley Chisholm.
