Weekly Legislative Update: November 30, 2020

CONGRESSIONAL SCHEDULE: NOVEMBER 30-DECEMBER 4, 2020

Floor Action:

The Senate is in session this week.

Employment – On Thursday, the House is scheduled to consider S. 2981, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Commissioned Officer Corps Amendments Act, which contains provisions to address sexual harassment within NOAA.

International – On Thursday, the House will consider H.R. 5517, the Gandhi-King Scholarly Exchange Initiative Act, which contains provisions to address the empowerment of women.

Mark-Ups:

Miscellaneous- On Thursday, the Senate Rules and Administration Committee will consider legislation, including S. 959, the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum Act.

Hearings:

International- On Tuesday, the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa, and International Terrorism will hold a hearing, “Advancing the Rights of Women and Girls in the Middle East: An Analysis of Current Trends and U.S. Policy.”
