On March 22, the House Small Business Committee approved, by voice vote, the Women’s Procurement Program Improvement Act (H.R. 4203).
The measure, sponsored by Ranking Member Nydia Velázquez (D-NY), would strengthen the Women’s Procurement program to improve women-owned small businesses’ access to federal government contracts. The bill would allow the awarding of sole source contracts to economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses and those operating in industries substantially underrepresented by women.
