Floor Action:

Appropriations- On April 28, Congress approved H. J. Res. 99, a continuing resolution that funds the federal government through May 5, thus preventing a partial government shutdown.

International- On April 25, the House passed, by voice vote, H. Res. 187, a resolution relating to the efforts to respond to the famine in South Sudan.

Mark-Ups:

Crime- On April 27, the House Judiciary Committee passed, by voice vote, H.R. 510, the Rapid DNA Act of 2017.

Employment- On April 26, the House Education and the Workforce Committee approved, 22-16, H.R. 1180, the Working Families Flexibility Act.

Hearings:

International- On April 26, the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations held a hearing, “The Questionable Case for Easing Sudan Sanctions.”
