On June 20, Karen Handel (R-GA) won a special election to fill the seat once held by then-Rep. Tom Price (R-GA). Once sworn-in, she will increase the number of women serving in Congress to 110 (including delegates).
Family Support- On June 23, the House passed, 377-34, H.R. 2842, the Accelerating Individuals into the Workforce Act.
International- On June 20, the House approved, by voice vote, H.R. 2484, the Women, Peace, and Security Act.
Military- On June 22, the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Military Personnel approved, by voice vote, its portion of H.R. 2810, the National Defense Authorization Act for FY2018.
