Floor Action:

Appropriations- On June 11, the House approved, 278-149, the FY2016 Defense spending bill (H.R. 2685).

On June 11, the Senate Appropriations Committee cleared, 27-3, the FY2016 Defense spending bill (S. 2558) for full Senate consideration.

On June 9, the House passed, 216-210, the FY2016 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies spending bill (H.R. 2577).

Military- This week, the Senate continued its work on the FY2016 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) (H.R. 1735).

Appropriations- On June 11, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved, 27-3, the FY2016 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

On June 11, the House Appropriations Committee approved, by voice vote, the FY2016 State and Foreign Operations spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

On June 11, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government approved, by voice vote, the FY2016 Financial Services and General Government spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

Hearings:

Violence Against Women- On June 10, the Senate Indian Affairs Committee held a hearing, “Addressing the Need for Victim Services in Indian Country.”

Family Support- On June 10, the House Agriculture Committee held a hearing, “Past, Present, and Future of SNAP: The Means to Climbing the Economic Ladder.”

On June 11, the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit held a hearing on several bills, including the Child Support Assistance Act (H.R. 2091).
