Floor Action:

Crime- On May 16, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, S. 139, the Rapid DNA Act. The House approved its version of the bill, H.R. 510, the same day by voice vote.

Employment- On May 17, the House approved, by voice vote, H.R. 653, the Federal Intern Protection Act of 2017.

Mark-Ups:

Military- On May 18, the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee approved, by voice vote, S. 1129, the Coast Guard Reauthorization Act, as amended.

Child Protection- On May 18, the House Judiciary Committee passed, by voice vote, H.R. 1973, the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse Act, as amended.

Human Trafficking- On May 18, the House Judiciary Committee also approved, by voice vote, H.R. 2473, the Enforcing Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, as amended.

Veterans- On May 17, the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs approved, by voice vote, H.R. 91, the Building Supportive Networks for Women Veterans Act.

Health- On May 18, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health approved, by voice vote, the Food and Drug Administration Reauthorization Act (H.R. 2430), as amended.

Hearings:

Veterans- On May 17, the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs held a hearing on several bills, including S. 681, the Deborah Sampson Act, and S. 804, the Women Veterans Access to Quality Care Act of 2017.
