Violence Against Women- On September 28, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved, by voice vote, S. 1766, the Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence Reporting (SAFER) Act of 2017.
International- On September 28, the House Foreign Affairs Committee approved, by voice vote, several bills en bloc, including H.R. 3445, the AGOA (African Growth and Opportunity Act) and MCA (Millennium Challenge Act) Modernization Act.
Human Trafficking- On September 27, the Senate Indian Affairs Committee held a hearing, “The GAO Reports on Human Trafficking of Native Americans in the United States.”
Veterans- On September 26, the House Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Health held a hearing on several bills, including H.R. 93, a bill to provide increased access to Department of Veterans Affairs medical care for women veterans.
International- On September 27, the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific held a hearing, “Burma’s Brutal Campaign Against the Rohingya.”
