Floor Action:

The Senate is scheduled to continue its consideration of S. 4049, the FY2021 National Defense Authorization Act.

The House is in session this week.

Mark-Ups:

Military– On Wednesday, the House Armed Services Committee will consider H.R. 6395, its version of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021.

Child Protection– On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will consider S.3398, a bill to establish a National Commission on Online Child Sexual Exploitation Prevention.

Hearings:

International– On Tuesday, the House Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on National Security will hold a hearing, “Empowering Women and Girls and Promoting International Security.”

Veterans– On Wednesday, the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Health and the Women Veterans Task Force will hold a hearing, “Veterans’ Access to Reproductive Health Care.”

Family Support

S. 4061—Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX)/Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry (6/24/20)—A bill to provide emergency nutrition assistance to states, and for other purposes.

Health

S. Res. 633—Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA)/Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (6/22/20)—A resolution supporting the goals of “International Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Awareness Day.”

Judiciary

H. Res. 1027—Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ)/Judiciary (6/26/20)—A resolution expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the wrongs and hardships of Black women are often equal to those experienced by Black men yet receive less attention and justice, and that any legislation passed in the House of Representatives to remedy racial inequities in the United States, especially those present in the criminal justice system, must include reforms to address concerns for Black women.

Military

H.R. 7289—Rep. Deb Haaland (D-NM)/Armed Services (6/22/20)—A bill to direct the director of the Defense Logistics Agency to carry out a pilot program for temporary issuance of maternity-related uniform items to pregnant members of the Armed Forces, and for other purposes.

H.R. 7383—Rep. Julia Brownley (D-CA)/Armed Services; Veterans Affairs (6/26/20)—A bill to direct the comptroller general of the United States to conduct a study regarding women involuntarily separated or discharged from the Armed Forces due to pregnancy or parenthood, and for other purposes.
