Congressional Schedule: August 2-6, 2021

The Senate is in session this week.

The House is in recess until August 27.

Mark-ups:

Appropriations- On Monday, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans’ Affairs (VA), and Related Agencies will mark up the FY2022 Military Construction, VA, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered), which would provide funding for military family housing and the Veterans Health Administration.

Also on Monday, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Related Agencies will mark up the FY2022 Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).

On Wednesday, the Senate Appropriations Committee will mark up several spending bills, including the FY2022 Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA, and Related Agencies; and Military Construction, VA, and Related Agencies spending bills.

Employment- On Tuesday, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, Pensions Committee will mark up legislation, including S.1486, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.

Small Business/Entrepreneurship- On Wednesday, the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee will mark up several bills, including S. 2068, the Minority Business Development Act of 2021. The measure includes a provision that directs the Minority Business Development Centers to work with women’s business centers.

Sports- On Wednesday, the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee will mark up several bills, including S. 2333, the Equal Pay for Team USA Act of 2021.

Women’s History- On Wednesday, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will mark up several bills, including, S. 2126, a bill to designate the “Louisa Swain Federal Office Building;” S. 1226, a bill to designate the “Sylvia H. Rambo United States Courthouse;” and S. 233, a bill to designate “Donna M. Doss Border Patrol Station.”
