Congressional Schedule: July 19-23, 2021

Floor Action:

The House and Senate are in session this week. 

Human Trafficking- On Tuesday, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 2795, the DHS Blue Campaign Enhancement Act. The measure would require the Department of Homeland Security to provide online training for law enforcement officers and others to combat human trafficking.

Mark-Ups:

Child Protection- On Wednesday, the Senate Indian Affairs Committee will mark up several bills, including H.R. 1688, a bill to amend the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.

Employment- On Tuesday, the House Oversight and Reform Committee will mark up several bills, including H.R. 564, the Comprehensive Paid Leave for Federal Employees Act. 

Health- On Wednesday, the House Energy and Commerce Committee will consider several bills, including H.R. 951, the Maternal Vaccination Act, H.R. 1550, the Promoting Resources to Expand Vaccination, Education, and New Treatments for HPV Cancers (PREVENT HPV Cancers) Act, and H.R. 4387, the Maternal Health Quality Improvement Act.

Military- On Tuesday, the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Personnel will mark up provisions of the FY2022 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which include provisions related to military health care and combating military sexual assault.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the Senate Armed Services Committee is scheduled to mark up the FY2022 NDAA in a closed session.

Miscellaneous- On Tuesday, the House Oversight and Reform Committee will consider several bills, including H.R. 2842, a bill to designate the “Lynn C. Woolsey Post Office Building.”

Violence Against Women- On Wednesday, the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee will mark up S.1275, the Family Violence Prevention and Services Improvement Act of 2021.

Hearings:

Employment- On Tuesday, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Aviation will hold a hearing, “Bridging the Gap: Improving Diversity and Inclusion in the U.S. Aviation Workforce.”

On Tuesday, the House Education Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions will hold a hearing, “Caring for Our Communities: Investing in the Direct Care Workforce.”
