On December 8, the House approved, 370-20, a third continuing resolution (H. J. Res. 102) to fund government programs until February 15, 2007. The Senate approved the resolution by unanimous consent later the same day. A previous continuing resolution expired at midnight on December 8. President Bush signed the resolution into law on December 9 (P.L. 109-383).
Under the continuing resolution, government programs and the District of Columbia will be funded at their FY2006 levels, the FY2007 level set in the House-passed bill, or the FY2007 level set in the Senate-passed bill, whichever is lowest.
The resolution also allows the Department of Veteran’s Affairs to transfer up to $683.97 million to the Veteran’s Health Administration for the provision of medical services during the period covered by the continuing resolution.
