Geraldine Ferraro Post Office Bill Clears Senate, Heads to President

On August 4, the Senate passed, by unanimous consent, H.R. 774, a bill to name a post office building in Long Island, New York after former Representative Geraldine Ferraro (D-NY). The House passed the legislation on May 5 (see The Source, 5/8/09). In 1984, Rep. Ferraro became the first female vice presidential candidate in American history.
