House Committee Clears Breastfeeding Equipment Act

On September 13, the House Committee on Homeland Security approved, by voice vote, H.R. 5065, the Bottles and Breastfeeding Equipment Screening Act, as amended, sponsored by Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA). The legislation would allow baby formula, breast milk, and juice on airplanes. The legislation also would authorize training for Transportation Security Administration personnel on special procedures for certifying the safety of these exceptions to the liquids rule.
