House Hearing Considers Hyde Amendment, Born Alive Infant Bill

On September 23, the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice held a hearing, “The Ultimate Civil Right: Examining the Hyde Amendment and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.” The Hyde Amendment prohibits federal funding for abortions; the House approved H.R. 3504, sponsored by Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ), in September 2015 (see The Source, 9/18/15).
