House Passes Human Trafficking Bills

On February 1, the House passed, by voice vote, the International Megan’s Law to Prevent Child Exploitation and Other Sexual Crimes Through Advanced Notification of Traveling Sex Offenders (H.R. 515) and the Trafficking Prevention in Foreign Affairs Contracting Act (H.R. 400).

On December 17, the Senate amended and approved H.R. 515, sending the measure back to the House for final passage (see The Source, 12/18/15). The House vote clears the bill for President Obama’s signature.

The House Foreign Affairs Committee passed H.R. 400 on February 27 (see The Source, 2/27/15).
