House Passes Post Office Bills

On March 1, the House approved, 371-9, H.R. 3735, a bill sponsored by Rep. Alma Adams (D-NC) to designate the Maya Angelou Post Office in Winston Salem, NC. An author and civil rights activist, Maya Angelou passed away in 2014.

The House also approved, by voice vote, H.R. 4046, a bill sponsored by Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) to designate the Second Lt. Ellen Ainsworth Post Office in Glenwood City, WI. Killed during World War II, Second Lt. Ainsworth posthumously was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
