On April 22, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, H.R. 5472 and H.R. 5489, bills to rename post office buildings in honor of former Reps. Julia Carson (D-IN) and Jo Ann Davis (R-VA), respectively, thus clearing the measures for the president’s signature. The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved the bills on April 10 (see The Source, 4/11/08); the House approved them on April 9 (see The Source, 4/11/08).
