On March 28, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, a bill (H.R. 4911) to extend programs authorized by the Higher Education Act of 1965 (P.L. 105-244) through June 30, 2006. The House approved the measure on March 14 (see The Source, 3/17/06). It will now go to the White House for President Bush’s signature.
