Weekly Legislative Update: November 28, 2022

Congressional Schedule: November 28-December 2, 2022

Floor Action:

The House and Senate are in session this week.

Family Support- On Tuesday, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 8876, the Jackie Walorski Maternal and Child Home Visiting Reauthorization Act of 2022, as amended. 

International- On Tuesday, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 4134, the Keeping Girls in School Act, as amended.  

Judiciary- On Wednesday, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 6878, the Pregnant Women in Custody Act. 

Veterans- On Tuesday, the House is scheduled to consider H.R. 2521, the DOULA for VA Act of 2022, as amended; and H.R. 4601, the Commitment to Veteran Support and Outreach Act, as amended, which includes provisions relating to providing grants to meet the unique needs of women veterans.  

Women’s History- On Tuesday, the House is also scheduled to consider H.R. 9308, a bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located in San Diego, California, as the “Susan A. Davis Post Office.”

Human Trafficking 

H.R. 9352—Rep. David Joyce (R-OH)/Judiciary (11/22/22)—A bill to improve services for trafficking victims by establishing, in Homeland Security Investigations, the Investigators Maintain Purposeful Awareness to Combat Trafficking Trauma Program and the Victim Assistance Program.
