Maya Angelou Post Office Bill Passes Senate

On May 26, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, H.R. 3735, a bill to designate the “Maya Angelou Memorial Post Office” in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved the bill on May 25; the House approved the bill, sponsored by Rep. Alma Adams (D-NC), on March 1 (see The Source, 3/4/16).

The Senate vote clears the legislation for President Obama’s signature.
